All our range is suitable for Vegetarians and our Multigrain Vegetable Bakes, Spicy Bean Burgers and NEW Gardein range are also suitable for Vegans.

Are Grassington’s foods healthy?
Grassington’s vegetable bakes and burgers are baked – not fried which keeps the calories down and improves texture and taste. Healthy diets need to contain a variety of foods including 5 portions of fruit or vegetables a day and not too much fat or salt. You can find all the nutritional details for each product on the pack or in the product section of this website. If you’re trying to reduce your consumption of meat or eat more vegetables then Grassington’s products can make a useful contribution to this – if you are vegetarian take a look at the vegetarian society website for lots of helpful information.

What are you doing to reduce your impact on the environment?
We try to buy our vegetables in season – when they taste their best and have been grown with lower energy use. We freeze them straight away to reduce food waste and we are continuously working on ways to reduce our energy consumption and our impact on the environment. We are working with our suppliers to reduce packaing and waste wherever we can and we recycle wherever possible. Buying frozen foods and only preparing what you need for each meal can be an excellent way to reduce waste compared to the use of out of season fresh vegetables that may have been flown into the UK.

Do Grassington’s products contain artificial ingredients?
All of our products are free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives. We only use free range eggs – we pride ourselves on the quality of our ingredients and we only use carefully audited suppliers.

Where can I buy Grassington’s products – I can’t find them in my local store?
We are always doing our best to get as many stores as possible to stock your favourite Grassington’s products. We’ve listed stockists of our most popular products in the product section of this website. If you cannot find Grassington's products at your local store you might be able to ask the store manager – the more people ask for Grassington’s products the easier they will be to find!

What is Gardein made of?
Gardein is a savoury blend of nutritious vegetable and grain ingredients, including soy, wheat, peas, beets and carrots, slow-cooked to have the authentic taste, texture and nutrition of premium, lean meat.

How is Gardein made?
The recipe for Gardein™ is top secret and we can’t tell. But we’re more than happy to share the method we use to make it. In fact, people ask us that question all the time. And this is what we tell them.

Picture how pasta is made. First you start by picking out all the necessary ingredients. Our ingredients happen to be super healthy grains and veggies.

Then, using the secret recipe, they are slow-cooked and passed through our sophisticated pasta machine to create Gardein™ products of all shapes and sizes. Clean and simple.

Just ingredients you’d find on the pantry shelf or growing in the fields, slow-cooked to give the authentic taste, texture and nutrition of premium lean meat.

Is Gardein good for me?
Products made with Gardein are:

• And contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives

Are products made with Gardein suitable for Vegans?
Unlike many of the other meat substitutes on the markets, Gardein doesn’t contain egg, and therefore is suitable for both Vegetarians and Vegans.

Where can I buy products with Gardein in?
Our Grassington’s made with Gardein range is available from Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Asda, and other good retailers.

Gardein tastes fantastic what other products are available?
Currently on the market are ‘Meat’ Balls, ‘Chicken’ Style Fillets with a tomato and herb marinade, and Peppered beef style steak.

We are constantly developing delicious new recipes to use Gardein in, we will keep you posted with any new developments – in the meantime if there is something in particular you would like to see please fill in a comments form on our talk to us page and we will pass it to our team of chefs.

If I eat products made with Gardein instead of meat am I missing out on any essential vitamins and am I still getting protein?
As Gardein is made from vegetables, some of the vitamins are retained through the process.

As for protein, products made with Gardein are an excellent source of protein, often containing more protein than actual meat!*
